The Client Brief

We are so proud of our collaboration with our lovely client in Ashfield, Sydney. Our client's living space consisted of four separate rooms, and he wanted to bring his home in line with today's modern homes by creating a more contemporary open-plan layout. The current kitchen was small, void of natural light, and not functional, with minimal storage. The brief included a new kitchen, laundry, bathroom and custom joinery throughout the home to maximise storage. 

The Challenge

To create a new concept for the living room that encompassed all our client's needs and ensuring the new layout was balanced and functional. 

The Design Solution

The living space was completely transformed, including removing walls to create an open format as per our client's brief. The existing laundry was relocated, and new full-height window doors were installed to allow natural light to flow through the living space. The kitchen was re-oriented to face the dining room, and the laundry was integrated into the area and cleverly hidden behind bi-fold doors to save space. An island was installed with castors for versatility, allowing our client full autonomy to alter the kitchen layout as needed, particularly when entertaining. The bathroom footprint was increased by 1m by removing and installing new walls and doors. A back-to-wall bath was installed in the bathroom to save space. 

The Result

A stunning kitchen, laundry and bathroom renovation that's fully functional with plenty of storage and better represents our client's personal taste and style preference. A terrific outcome for our wonderful clients who now have the open plan living room they've always dreamt of custom-built for modern living.
