The Client Brief

Our client's kitchen and laundry were old, tired and in need of renovation. She needed the new kitchen and laundry spaces to be more functional and include a space for casual dining with a coastal feel.

The Challenge

With a compact space, the new kitchen design needed to allow for ample cooking and washing zones and space for casual dining. 

The Design Solution

A simple L-shape kitchen layout was designed to maximise the available space and allow plenty of room for movement. The new kitchen design created dedicated washing and cooking zones, ensuring that multiple family members can work in the kitchen space at any one time. An open servery was positioned at the end of the cooking zone to allow for seating on either side of the bench. The extended benchtop also allows for additional prep space when needed.

A functional compact laundry space was added and neatly hidden behind louvred doors. V-groove doors combined with crisp white and blue tones helped create a modern coastal feel. Custom joinery was designed for additional storage, including bikes. 

The Result

A new kitchen that optimises both storage and functionality with a dedicated area for casual dining. The new layout allows multiple family members to work comfortably in the kitchen space. A compact laundry is now smartly hidden behind louvred doors that allow airflow through the space and laundry clutter to be hidden away, and custom joinery where bikes and other home items can be conveniently and neatly stored.
