The Client Brief

It was an honour working alongside our wonderful client on this riverside project. Her kitchen and bathroom spaces were stuck in the past, lacking the flair and functionality of modern living. The kitchen felt cramped, and she dreamed of an inviting space where she could entertain family and friends in style. Her vision? A classic, coastal Hamptons look that exudes charm and warmth.

The Challenge

This home's layout was a bit of a puzzle; however, we were excited to tackle this design challenge. The kitchen was tucked away at the front of the house, while the bathroom and laundry were located off the living areas at the rear. Our mission was clear: create a design that seamlessly fits our client’s needs and lifestyle. She loves hosting gatherings, so we needed to whip up an entertainer’s paradise—think generous cooking space, cozy seating, and ample storage, all while ensuring everything felt open and inviting!

The Design Solution

To bring our client’s dreams to life, we decided to flip the kitchen and bathroom locations. Moving the kitchen to the back end of the home meant it would now overlook the lush landscaped backyard—talk about a view! We envisioned a stunning open-plan layout that would connect the kitchen to the living and dining areas, creating one cheerful flow. By tearing down walls, we crafted a spacious U-shaped kitchen with a central island, perfect for prepping meals, casual dining and entertaining. Beautiful white custom B&C shaker doors enhanced with elegant brass accents perfectly embody the classic Hamptons coastal vibe our client craved. To maintain harmony throughout the home, we echoed these design elements in the bathroom and laundry, creating a cohesive home look. Relocating the bathroom and laundry to the previous kitchen space allowed us to design these areas with purpose and style. Eye-catching veined marble tiles and gleaming brass fixtures add a touch of sophistication to this timeless retreat.

The Result

A revitalised home layout has transformed the kitchen into the true heart of the home. Nestled at the rear, it now boasts breathtaking outdoor views and an effortless connection to the living and dining spaces—perfect for entertaining or enjoying a cozy family night in. The relocated bathroom and laundry are now thoughtfully positioned, combining practicality with flair, making every visit a delightful experience. This renovation has skyrocketed the home’s value, but more importantly, it has rejuvenated the way our client lives and entertains. Friends and family can’t stop raving about the stunning transformation, and our client is over the moon with her beautiful new spaces. Here’s to creating memories that will last a lifetime!
