The Client Brief

Mark had a great outdoor area, however, when entertaining it wasn’t functional and as a result it was under utilised. It was a great space and needed a work hub where guests could congregate when Mark was entertaining. Mark wanted a fully functional outdoor BBQ area with plenty of storage.

The Challenge

To come up with a design that offered the storage and practicality Mark was after without taking away much needed space from the outdoor entertaining area.

We also needed to incorporate materials that were weather proof and offered the timber look that Mark was seeking.

The Design Solution

We kept the design simple and the layout was across one wall so as not to take up valuable entertaining space. We wanted it to be visually beautiful so we suggested a marine grade veneer with charming knots throughout to match his indoor style.

By having the BBQ cabinetry run right alongside the home and directly outside the kitchen meant that the two areas flowed seamlessly onto each other, merging the two spaces together.

We also decided to centre the placement of the BBQ with plenty of bench top workspace for preparation and serving.

The Result

Mark now has an outdoor entertaining area that blends seamlessly with his indoor living space. He now has a central outdoor hub where family and friends can gather.

The quality materials and finishes used mean that Mark will enjoy his outdoor kitchen for years to come.
