Kitchen & Laundry Renovation

Project Description

The Client Brief

Kitchen - Kimmy & Rhi were given the job of renovating Laith & George’s tired kitchen. They wanted to create a sleek contemporary kitchen featuring dark tones, that would fit with Laith & George’s style and unique personality. The existing kitchen was oudated, did not offer modern functionality, and in need of a major re-design. Kimmy & Rhi wanted the new kitchen to be a stand out feature of the home.
Laundry - Tamara & Rhys wanted to ensure that Laith & George’s laundry was beautiful, and functional enough to perform everyday laundry tasks with ease. They felt it was important that the laundry design elements were in keeping with the kitchen joinery to ensure a cohesive look for Laith & George’s renovated home.

The Challenge

Kitchen - The original kitchen was narrow and a traditional u-shape design. Kimmy & Rhi wanted to update the layout as well as the look. The challenge here was to adapt the existing space to allow for a more modern layout.
Laundry - With limited room it was important the laundry design maximised both space and function.

The Design Solution

Kitchen - The u-shape extension was removed to allow for a more contemporary layout featuring an island bench. We used black matt cabinetry to add sense of moody luxury, and featured timber veneer on wall cabinetry to warm up the kitchen space kitchen. Opting for handless kitchen joinery supported the sleek and contemporary kitchen design Kimmy & Rhi were after.
Laundry - Located in the hallway, the new laundry layout was designed to maximise counter space as well as storage. We reduced the size of the tub to allow for much needed counter space and added plenty of storage via open shelving.

The Result

Kitchen - A contemporary kitchen renovation in keeping with Laith & George’s style - understated luxury. The new kitchen layout has increased floor space, and created more room for movement and flow of traffic in and out of the kitchen. The new island bench has also provided the room with a central hub for entertaining as well as additional counter workspace. The quality and craftsmanship of the kitchen build mean that Laith & George are going to enjoy their new home for years to come.

Laundry - A beautiful laundry design that maximised the available space, incredibly functional with plenty of room to complete everyday laundry tasks with ease.
