The Client Brief

Colin’s kitchen and bathroom were over 20 years old and in need of a complete renovation. He wanted something simple and minimalistic. He didn’t want anything to clutter an already limited space. Colin also needed to re-purpose the bathroom to allow for laundry facilities.

The Challenge

With limited space we had to be clever and practical with the design elements for both the kitchen and bathroom.

The Design Solution

We used wherever possible integrated appliances e.g. dishwasher and fridge to allow the small area to flow with no interruptions. In doing this it seemed as though we doubled the size of the kitchen space.

We opted for simple white matt cabinetry to minimise reflection and add openness to the small space. The simple glass taupe splashback further adds to the minimalist design approach.

In the bathroom we included a semi frameless shower screen and added a hidden cupboard to include laundry facilities. The bathroom is now a multipurpose room offering both bath and laundry amenities.

We also ensured that the cabinetry within the bathroom was in keeping with the kitchen format to ensure a flow of style throughout the apartment.

The Result

A very happy client, Colin now has both a contemporary kitchen and bathroom in keeping with his style and needs. Now his home looks fresh and inviting. These rooms no longer look crammed and cluttered, they are now inviting spaces for entertaining and relaxing alike.
