The Client Brief

Our client needed a new kitchen and bathroom that looked contemporary with high functionality. He wanted the kitchen space to feel more open and connected to the living areas. Our client also wanted to include a steam shower and needed a floating entertainment unit with custom storage for TV and personal items. 

The Challenge

The kitchen and bathroom felt dark and compact, so we needed to create an intelligent design solution that maximised every inch of space. 

The Design Solution

The new design consisted of a more open kitchen layout. We knocked down a wall to open up the kitchen room to the living and dining areas, and by creating an opening at the opposite end of the kitchen, we were able to install a servery for in-house dining. We installed lighting underneath the beam to help illuminate workspaces and add more light to the kitchen space. In the bathroom, we installed a supporting post and joinery to neatly house a bespoke hidden laundry. Custom in-built seating was installed in the steam shower, featuring custom glazed floor to ceiling glass so our client could comfortably sit and enjoy a steam session.

The Result

A wonderfully functional and modern kitchen and bathroom spaces. The kitchen is now more open, feels larger, and is better connected to adjacent living areas. With the addition of the servery, our client now has the added benefit of more counter space for prep work and room for casual dining and entertaining. The bathroom design solution has provided our client with a functional hidden laundry and comfortable steam room. A floating TV unit, cleverly designed, ensures home entertainment items are neatly organised and kept out of sight.
