Project Description
The Client Brief
Our wonderful Surry Hills client set out on an exciting journey to breathe fresh life into a tired, uninspiring kitchen. They envisioned a vibrant space brimming with style, practicality, and a dash of personality that reflected their unique taste.
The Challenge
The existing kitchen was squeezed into a compact area, with a little study room relegated to the back of the existing kitchen. The study was not located in a practical way, and as such, was used mainly for storage. Our mission? Transform this narrow area into an inviting oasis that felt spacious and welcomed the addition of a functional laundry.
The Design Solution
We knew that the small study at the back of the kitchen was not serving its purpose. It was time to shake things up! By removing a dividing wall, we opened up precious square footage for a dynamic kitchen/laundry area. Extending the kitchen into the living space allowed us to create a cheerful servery/casual dining nook, helping to define the kitchen and living areas.
With the newfound space, we reimagined the kitchen layout, making way for generous prep areas and loads of storage options. At the end of the galley kitchen, we installed a chic European-style laundry, complemented by custom shallow storage and floating shelves that turned an overlooked corner into a stylish feature. To capture our client’s classic aesthetic: stunning blue and white shaker cabinets with a shadowline feature on base cabinets, accentuated by elegant fluting on the barback, and a dreamy veined splashback that adds a touch of sophistication. With perfectly new tiled floors throughout to match.
The Result
A modern kitchen that’s not only functional and beautiful but also a storage marvel with laundry to match! Our clients now enjoy their new culinary haven, making every meal a celebration. We're so excited for them.
