The Client Brief

Working with our wonderful client in the seaside suburb of Maroubra was an absolute delight! She had a kitchen and bathroom that were feeling a bit worn out and cramped, along with a laundry that not only took up space but wasn’t functional. Our mission? To transform these spaces into vibrant, inviting areas that harmonise with the traditional charm of her cozy cottage. She dreamt of a spacious kitchen that inspires and a bathroom that provides for her busy family!

The Challenge

The kitchen space was a narrow, elongated room, and we knew we had to think outside the box! Our challenge was to reimagine this space, making it feel open and breezy instead of tight and tucked away. And don’t get us started on the bathroom—it was begging for some magic to make it feel larger and more accommodating to the needs of this family!

The Design Solution

We noticed the laundry room was full of untapped potential. All of the laundry room was not being used, and there was a lot of wasted space. What if we relocated it? By knocking down the wall between the laundry and bathroom, we opened the doorway to a spectacular transformation. This clever design choice allowed us to create a spacious bathroom where family members can unwind and refresh.

The laundry found a new home at the end of the kitchen, partitioned off with custom bi-fold doors, ensuring it remained discreet yet accessible. With the laundry neatly tucked away at the end of the room, the kitchen could operate independently, and the smart location choice meant that the two working areas were clearly defined and segregated.

We completely reimagined the kitchen layout, creatively closing off one window (the room was overflowing with natural light from other angles). This clever move allowed us to position the fridge and pantry at the end of the galley, keeping them neatly out of sight and ensuring the kitchen remained light and open. We then moved the cooktop and sink to one side, allowing an expansive clear run of counter space, providing ample room for food prep and entertaining!

And the bathroom? With more space to breathe, it became more of a sanctuary featuring a custom shower, a dreamy tub, and a beautiful vanity for storage that effortlessly merges function with flair.

The showstopping cabinetry throughout features classic custom B&C “Bolection” profile, exuding timeless elegance. Together with the bold colour scheme, you've got a combination that elevates these spaces, making them vibrant and engaging. We topped it all off with stunning reengineered herringbone floors throughout, infusing warmth and character!

The Result

We unveiled a stunning, timeless kitchen, laundry, and bathroom that are beautiful and functional. Our client is over the moon! Working in her new kitchen is now comfortable and a joy, and getting ready in her gorgeous, roomy bathroom is effortless and easy. These fresh layouts have not only elevated her lifestyle but also added incredible value to her beloved home.
