The Client Brief
Our wonderful Petersham client was such a joy to work with. She envisioned a kitchen that felt open and inviting, not just another cramped cooking space. What she needed was an out-of-the-box renovation solution that would transform her kitchen into a functional, spacious haven where cooking and entertaining could easily unfold!
The Challenge
Imagine a small kitchen serving as a busy gateway between living areas, yet feeling tight and restrictive. With no opportunity to relocate the kitchen, we were tasked with crafting an alternative design solution. Our goal? To create a kitchen that flowed seamlessly and felt welcoming, with plenty of storage and an intuitive layout that offered easy access to the adjacent living areas!
The Design Solution
The original L-shaped kitchen constricted the space, making the entire room feel closed off. So we decided to shake things up! Out with the L-shape, in with a fabulous galley-style kitchen! We placed the sink strategically in front of an open window, flooding the wash zone with natural light—who wouldn’t love washing dishes with a view? And with generous bench space flanking the sink, we added tall cabinets on either side that not only brought balance and symmetry to the space but also neatly concealed the cooking zones and refrigerator, keeping the view from the adjacent living rooms picture-perfect! The cooktop and pantry found their new home on the opposite wall, paired with cozy drop zones on either side for easy meal prep.
The stunning Quartzite countertops contrast perfectly against the chic timber-look cabinetry, complemented by crisp white floating shelves and wall cabinets, creating a kitchen that’s as beautiful as it is practical!
The Result
A fabulous and unique kitchen design that truly mirrors our client's personality! This space isn't just functional; it’s a joyful oasis where she can whip up her culinary masterpieces with ease, all while enjoying the warmth and openness that we’ve created. Now, she finds cooking and entertaining enjoyable and easy. Here’s to many fun-filled cooking adventures in her stunning new kitchen!
